I just
wanted to take a moment to share my heart. God has taken a foolish
person and used him in a special way. I can take no credit for
Clearcreek's great success at JBQ. I almost feel like God chose me
because I was the worst example you could find. That's a joke
by the way. (Kind of like reverse pride.) You name it I did it. I'm
not proud of what I used to be or how I used to act, but God makes
all things new through Christ.
What God has done at Clearcreek is
special. He just blessed and blessed and kept right on blessing
right up to the end. The lessons God has given me has changed
lives. I can't explain it, but it's like JBQ in overdrive. It has
been a wonder to watch.
I can't remember one teacher, who taught me in grades 3rd through 6th. It hit
me that maybe I was wasting my time. Then I ran
into one of my old quizzers, who is now in college. She told me the JBQ
lessons were lessons that she would carry with her for life. She could never forget
the impact that they had and still have on her life. I thought I was going to
jump out of my skin. What a thrill to know that God had used
me to make such a difference in a child's life! I
wanted to multiply what God had done. My prayer was, "Please God open doors for
me to share what you have done so others can do the
same thing." And He did open doors. I have taught coaches in
6 states and done my entire seminar twice.
In my heart it
just was not enough. "God," I cried, " make a way for me to
teach this to the entire country." Who would have thought that the
opportunity would come after I was no longer leading JBQ at
Clearcreek? It all started with a simple e-mail and the ball got
rolling. In a matter of days Kentucky JBQ via Paul
Markwell stepped up and offered to provide all the funds
for a professional recording of my seminar. Talk about humbling! To
think that Don Wade had been saving Kentucky JBQ money for
years; not even knowing why he needed so much set aside. God
knew, and I pray that God will touch a multitude of children because
of one man's faithfulness.
It's all really simple
when it comes down to it. It's all about the
kids!
