Congratulations to Capital City/Columbus, the 2006 Ohio State JBQ champions! This is their 1st State Championship after some great National results a few years ago. With two rounds left there were three teams with one lose, Clearcreek Christian, Dayton Christian and Toledo Calvary. Capital City had two loses. Bethel and Toledo lost in round six so going into the last round Clearcreek stood in first with the best recond, the most points and needed a win or scoring enough points to win their 6th State Title. They could do neither as they lost to Bethel Christian on question 19 and Capital City scored an incredible 500 points the last two round to pass Clearcreek and claim it's first State Championship. Capital City now is invited to attend Regionals and Nationals and Clearcreek, Bethel and Toledo are invited to attend Regionals with an opportunity to gain a invite to Nationals there.
Congratulations are in order for the other teams that qualified for the Masters Division. Dayspring, Beavercreek,(Last years Ohio's represenatives at Nationals), Capital City II and Clearcreek II. Clearcreek by qualifying for Regionals will be attending for a tenth straight year.
