Congratulations to Beavercreek the 2005 Ohio State JBQ champions! Beavercreek wins its first state title in its second year in the Masters Division. Beavercreek and Capital City were tied at 5 -1 going into the final round. Beavercreek lost to Clearcreek and Captal City lost to Dayspring in their last matches so Beavercreek was declaired State Champions due to their head to head win. The next 5 teams were all within one match of each other. Daysping and Clearcreek finished 3rd and 4th respectively. While Cincinnati First, Ashtabula and Toledo Calvary finished 5th, 6th and 7th all were within a hairs width of making the top four and moving on to Regionals. Strange, wild, unique, bizarre, ugly were just some of the words that could be used to describe this years State finals. Last years State champs, Ashtabula, had the most points in the Masters division, yet finished 6th and Clearcreek lost their first 3 matches yet still made it to Regionals!
If Clearcreek can qualify for Nationals at Regionals they will be the first church in Ohio history to attend Nationals five straight years. Good luck, it won't be easy! Congratulations are in order for Lowelville as they also qualified for the Masters division, this for their 3rd time!
