Clearcreek Christian Wins States!

Congratulations to Clearcreek Christian/Springboro, the 2002 Ohio State JBQ champions! This is their 2nd State Championship in a row and fourth overall. Each year there seems to be a match or couple of matches on which the State title hinges. With two rounds left there were six teams still in contention. So it is impossible to point to one match or two that made the difference. When all was said and done Springboro scored the most points and also defeated Living Hope head to head. Living Hope and Dayspring were new to the Masters division and showed none of the expected first time jitters as they finished 2nd and 3rd respectively. They will be moving on to Regionals along with Capital City, who is becoming a regular at this sort of thing as this is their third straight trip to Regionals. They will try and make Nationals for the third straight year. Goodluck to them, Living Hope and Dayspring as they attempt to move on to Nationals.
Congratulations are in order for the other teams that qualified for the Masters Division. Highway Tabernacle, First Christian/Cincinnati, Bethel Temple/Dayton, and Poland New Life. a quick look at Ohio JBQ Trivia page will show you that these churches are not strangers to the Masters Division and we honor their years of excellent quizzing.
Also of note, Clearcreek Christian also won the Achievers division and this is the only time we can remember one church wining both of the top two Ohio divisions. Any of you old timers out there who remember another church that has done this please E-mail the sight and I will add this inofrmation to the trivia page.
The following are the team and individual results from Ohio's 6 divisions. This ends another great year of JBQ in Ohio. Don't forget to pray for the leadership in the State and your church. Where would we be without them?
