Congratulations to Elkhart Indiana the 2005 Great Lakes Regional JBQ champions! As was the case at the 2005 Corvette Invitational Elkhart laped the field. The winner was never in doubt this year. Naperville team C finshed 2nd and Dayspring 3rd (They will be going to Nationals for the first time after 4 straight year attending Regionals). Fourth went o Michigan State champ Bethesda Key Word in a tie breaker with Naperville team J. Elkhart team Asia finished 6th. It was kind of a mess after that with 11 teams within two matches of each other, also just like Corvette. Those 11 teams were vying for the final two spots at Nationals! The winner Elkhart also took the 3rd highest scoring average at the GLR.
This year the following teams will be attending Nationals. The five State Champions finished in the following manor. Calvary Elkhart Arfica (1), Calvary Church Napervillle (2) Bethesda Sterling Heights (4), Lexington Ky (13), and Beavercreek Ohio (14). Thus a finish in the top eight was required to qualify for Nationals. Congraulations to Dayspring (3), Calvary J Naperville (5), Calvary Elkhart Asia(6), Living Hope, Bowling Green Ky (7) and First AOG Fort Wayne In(8).
Clearcreek Christian ended a long streak of Nationals visits as they failed to become the first team in Ohio history to go 5 straight years and also had been 7 of the last 8 years. It will be some time before someone in Ohio can challenge those streaks since both Ohio teams this year have never been before.
