Congratulations to Bethesda Michigan the 2000 Great Lakes Regional JBQ champions! Bethesda wins for the second time in three years. Congratulations to Capitol City for qualifing for Nationals for the first time. A brief look down the team standings and you can learn that there were many teams in the running this year. This also was the most competitive years in memory. I can never recall a team with 7 loses making the top 4 as Naperville team 1 did this year.
Will this Regional again provide the National Champion as it has every year since 1994? This Regional does seem to do a good job of preparing teams for Nationals, but success here does not guarantee a great National tournament. Just ask the winners the last three years, who watched as other Great Lake's teams went on to glory. The last two years the 5th place team, Springboro and the 6th place team, Lafayette have gone on to win Nationals. While the winner of the GLR Bethesda Michigan and Springboro finished 17th at Nationals. So will another 2nd level team rise to the top?
